MTLE Testing Information

All teacher candidates seeking initial licensure in the state of Minnesota must pass content and pedagogy exams required for their particular license area which include the following for programs offered through the School of Urban Education at Metro State:

Not required as Metro State only offers its additional licensure program to people with an initial license in another area who have already met this exam requirement

REQUIRED FOR TIER 4 LICENSURE ONLY:  Passing the Reading, Writing and Math Skills requirement.  Meeting this requirement may be fulfilled by passing the Minnesota NES Essential Academic Skills Exam or by achieving particular scores in the Multi-State NES Essential Academic Skills, ACT Plus Writing, 1600 SAT, GRE, Praxis CORE, or GRE tests.
