How students use Ebsco on DOC tablets

How TREC students request for articles

through Ebsco database through their tablets

TREC students can search and request for full-text articles from academic journals and periodicals (pending approval by DOC library/education staff) using the following Ebsco database on their tablets:

Academic Search Premier

https://research-ebsco-com.content.elibrarymn.org/c/nfiawx/search?db=aph

The search features and interface to this database (available freely to everyone in Minnesota through eLibraryMN) may look slightly different from what students actually see on their tablets, but the overall content available to them is similar - they can search for and browse article abstracts before requesting them.

  • It can take 1-5 business days for their full-text article requests to be approved.
  • TREC students are allowed to request up to 5 articles per day.

*If a full-text article had been previously requested and approved by the DOC education /library staff, then it will be already available for students to access on their tablets.

Instructors: Whenever possible, please remind students to select your course and “Research paper” as the reason for their full-text article requests!

If students need additional academic sources for their research assignments that they’re not able to find through Ebsco (eg: government statistics, news coverage/ current events, etc.) or have issues accessing Ebsco, please encourage them to reach out to their respective TREC liaison librarian via ConnectedCorrections for further assistance.

If students have issues contacting the librarian,  instructors should reach out to the respective TREC liaison librarians listed by facility below, and provide the student's name:

  • Robin Gee (Faribault) - robin.gee@metrostate.edu
  • Dawn Wing (Lino Lakes) - dawn.wing@metrostate.edu
