What document types are accepted in MetroWorks?

Most file types are accepted, including:

  • text (doc, rtf, txt, pdf)
  • data (xls, cvs, txt)
  • presentations (ppt)
  • images (jpeg, png)
  • audio (mp3)
  • video

It is recommended that files submitted follow the preferred formats in the Library of Congress Recommended Formats Statement. For unusual or non-standard file formats, please email library.services@metrostate.edu before submitting.

Any textual file will be converted into a PDF.

There are no size restrictions, but large files exceeding 30 megabytes may cause users to experience errors or timeouts.

Does MetroWorks provide editorial support or facilitate peer review?

MetroWorks is open to eligible scholarly or creative work, whether or not that work has undergone peer review.

MetroWorks does not provide editorial support or facilitate peer review. Creators are solely responsible for the content of their work.

How will my works be preserved over time?

Since MetroWorks is a permanent archive of the university's scholarship and creative work, contributors give Metro State University the right to migrate works to other file formats. File formats are subject to changes in technology and will be migrated or updated to ensure continued preservation. Library and Information Services will try to ensure continued readability and accessibility.

What platform does MetroWorks use?

MetroWorks is built using Digital Commons from bepress/Elsevier. Digital Commons offers a professional grade publishing platform for journals, books, conference presentations, Open Educational Resources, open access articles, and more.
