Finding Science Journals in Other Library Databases

ScienceDirect Journals
Access to over 2000 academic, peer-reviewed journals published by Elsevier across all subject areas.
PubMed (MEDLINE)
Free version of MEDLINE, the most comprehensive source of journal articles in the health sciences. Go to PubMed via the library's website to access links to full-text articles in the library's electronic journal subscriptions. Look for buttons labeled "Check for Full Text" or "Free Full Text".
If the full text of the article is not linked to the PubMed citation, remember that the Library can obtain copies of articles for students, staff and faculty for free via the InterLibrary Loan Service.
Science
Science Online is the digital version of the prestigious scientific journal Science (Sometimes referred to as Science Magazine). It is published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Full text coverage is from 1996 to present.

Tools for Chemical Lookup

ChemIDPlus Advanced
Provides chemical structure, property, and toxicity searching. A part of the National Library of Medicine.
PubChemPlus (Compound and Substance)
The PubChem Substance Database contains descriptions of samples, from a variety of sources, and links to biological screening results that are available in PubChem BioAssay. If the chemical contents of a sample are known, the description includes links to PubChem Compound.
Common Chemistry
CAS Registry Numbers for approximately 7,800 chemicals of widespread general public interest. Search by chemical name or CAS RN.

Be sure to visit Scholar Preferences and set your "Library Links" to Metropolitan State.

OneSearch: Search for Books, Articles, DVDs & More

Search OneSearch for books, ebooks, streaming films, DVDs, scholarly articles, and other materials at Metropolitan State University. OneSearch is able to search for most of the library resources, but does not include all the content in the Feature Films for Education streaming video database. That must be searched separately.

ChemDraw

ChemDraw is a program that lets you create chemical drawings. This program is installed on campus computers, including the computers in the library, though it is not actually provided by the library.
