Relaxing Rock Painting
Wednesday, April 9

First-Floor Lounge
Relax your body and mind by painting rocks. Learn to paint a dot mandala or go freeform with a design of your own! All supplies will be provided and the painted rock is yours to keep.
Off the Wall: Poetry Reading
Thursday, April 10
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Second-Floor Lounge
Metro State students, faculty, staff, and alumni will be reading their impromptu poems and works in progress written recently during a "70 poems in 70 days" challenge.

Library Treasure Hunt
How well do you know the library? Go on the Library Treasure Hunt to find out! Ask library staff at the first-floor desk and they can help you get started.
The first 50 people to turn in a complete set of answers will receive a Metro State water bottle. One person who turns in a complete and correct set of answers will be randomly selected to win a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card!
Guess the Number of Study Room Hours!
Do you know how much the library's study rooms were used in 2024? Guess the total number of hours the study rooms were occupied last year and win a prize! Submit your best guess online or complete a paper form in the library (one entry per person, please).
The closest answer wins a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

The fine print:
Only current Metro State students are eligible to receive gift cards. Gift cards will be sent electronically to the email address you provide and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident alien or are present under F-1 nonimmigrant student status, you must complete a Tax Residency Information Form (TRIF) to receive your gift card.

Employee Picks and Poetry Reads
What would National Library Week be without a book display or two? Check out recommendations from the library team on the first floor and works of poetry in honor of National Poetry Month on the second.
Magnetic Poetry
Reading poetry is great, but how about writing some of your own? Visit the magnetic poetry station on the second floor and enjoy some of the fabulous poetry books we have on display. There's even online magnetic poetry if you can't make it to the library.

"Drawn to the Library"
National Library Week (April 6-12, 2025) is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions and promote library use and support. The theme for National Library Week 2025 is "Drawn to the Library," illustrating the fact that whatever draws you in, the library has something for everyone!
2025 Honorary Chairs

When Scott and I were working on The Cartoonists Club, that’s exactly what we had in mind.
