Library building: Hours and access

Library building access:

  • Until further notice, the Metro State Library is open to students and employees ONLY. See here for Dayton's Bluff branch access.
  • Use your university ID at the card readers at the ground floor east entrance (parking lot side) to enter. Security personnel are on-hand to assist. 
  • You are required to wear a mask over your nose and mouth while in the building.
  • If you do not have a university ID, get one by mail.

Metro State Library hours Spring 2022 (January 10 through May 3):

  • Monday through Thursday: OPEN 8am--8pm
  • Friday and Saturday: OPEN 10am--6pm
  • Sundays: CLOSED
  • Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 17

Study rooms:

During the Covid-19 pandemic, study rooms are for 1-2 individuals only; group study is not allowed. The children of parents are exempt from this policy. The rooms are currently equipped with computers.

We regret the inconvenience, but the Metro State Library is closed to you at this time. See Dayton's Bluff branch access. You may access online library resources, e.g. ebooks, ejournals, research databases, and research assistance through your home public library's website or through
