Library building: Hours and access

Library building access:

  • The Metro Library is now open to community members as well as students, alumni, and staff.
  • The first two hours of the weekday are student/staff access only.
  • Use your university ID at the card readers at the ground floor east entrance (parking lot side) to enter. Security personnel are on-hand to assist. 
  • Masks are no longer required, but are welcome.
  • If you do not have a university ID, get one by mail.

Metro State Library hours Summer 2022 (May 4 through August 19):

  • Monday through Thursday: OPEN 8am--8pm (public hours start at 10am)
  • Friday and Saturday: OPEN 10am--6pm
  • Sundays: CLOSED

Study rooms:

During the Covid-19 pandemic, study rooms are for 1-2 individuals only; group study is not allowed. The children of parents are exempt from this policy. The rooms are currently equipped with computers.

Community members:

The Metro State Library is now open for public use starting at 10am. See the 2nd floor circulation desk if you need an ID. (Mondays through Thursdays 8am-10am is student/staff use only.) See Dayton's Bluff branch access as well.
