Note: All films on Kanopy allow classroom screenings in person, but the Library's film rights do not cover synchronous virtual screenings.

If you want your students to watch a Kanopy film during a synchronous online course, each student must log in and access the film on their own device.

How to Link

Follow these steps to link to a Kanopy video:

  1. Find the video you wish to use and go to its page.
  2. Once you are on the page for the video, scroll down below the video viewer and click on the Share button/link.
  3. Within the share options, you should see a "Share link" option. Use it to link directly to the video; you can share this link via email, or post it in your course content.

NOTE: To correctly create a a link in D2L/Brightspace, select Create a File, and then look for the following icons in the HTML editor:

Click on the "play" icon on the left (NOT the "chain" icon). Then choose the "Insert Link" option on the menu that appears.
